Teaching

My teaching has been recognized with the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Graduate Students and its Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching by Graduate Students. I've been a teaching assistant for courses in Modern Political Thought, Ancient Political Thought, The American Presidency, and Shakespeare and Political Ethics. I've given detailed feedback on hundreds of student papers and written dozens of recommendation letters. Several of my former students have gone to graduate school and one has run for local political office. Despite my best efforts, a few even want to become political scientists.
